Anti-vibration system

Intense vibration at the handles of power tools can lead to long-term effects on blood vessels in the hands and arms. STIHL has therefore developed an effective anti-vibration system whereby the oscillations from the machine's engine are dampened which significantly reduces vibrations at the handles.
STIHL 2-MIX-Motor

Der speziell für die neue Heckenscherengeneration konstruierte STIHL 2-Mix–Motor vereint niedrige Emissions- und Verbrauchswerte mit geringem Gewicht und ausgezeichneten Beschleunigungswerten. Auch für den Schnitt von dickeren Gehölzen stehen jederzeit ausreichend Leistungsreserven zur Verfügung.
Cutting variation (R)

The R variations of the STIHL HS 81 and STIHL HS 87 are designed specifically for large volume cutting. They feature a cutting blade with wide tooth spacing and longer tooth height. The gearing allows a high cutting power at a medium stroke rate. The R variations provide the possibility of cutting thicker branches and completing clearing work faster.
Double-sided blades

Dual ground blade system provides a clean cut. Excellent for cutting stronger, thicker branches.
Swivelling multi-function handle

The handle rotates by 90° to the left and right, ensuring the best cutting position at all times.
Electronic ignition module

This ensures reliable starting and trouble-free running. The ignition system is fully encapsulated and thus protected from damp and dirt.
